Drop-in Hansen for Mining

Problem
An Australia Coal Mining customer had long term issue on its Primary Crusher Feeder Breaker gearboxes. They were unable to withstand more than 6 months of service life. Diggers often find it hard to separate coal from the rock, causing a fair amount of rocks going through the crushers. As rocks are harder than coal, and the machines primarily designed to crush coal, it created one of the cause of challenge. Customer also wanted to have our gearbox fit its existing Drive Envelope and there was a lack of OEM machine drawings. There were also request to have minimal adaptors with an easy installation solution.

Solution
Our AGMA Mech Rating Hansen P4 also provided the added advantage of having greater load-carrying capacity and gear performance, optimising a longer-lasting run time and a reduced risk of failure. This greatly strengthens the tooth strength of our gear when subjected to heavy crushing load. Furthermore, our AU team measured the existing solid shaft to match the bell housing dimension and hole centers at remote dusty mine sites to ensure the accuracy of the measurements. This allowed them to bore the QHRH3 hollow shaft to meet the existing Crusher Solid Shaft and customised an engineered and fabricated Adaptor plate to meet the existing bell housing. This drop-in solution allowed our Hansen P4 to fit well into the existing Drive Envelope as per our customer requirements.
