Sumitomo (SHI) Cyclo Drive Asia Pacific Group Export Control Policy
It is the policy of SCA Group to comply with all laws and regulations of the countries it is shipping from, with regards to the governance on export of product, services, software and technical data.
SCA shares the concern of the international community on the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and recognizes the need for safeguards against the illicit movement of items through its ports that can contribute to such proliferation.
The Strategic Goods (Control) Act or SGCA, regulates the trade in strategic goods and strategic goods technology. Strategic goods refer to items and their related technology that can be used to produce weapons of mass destruction, and missiles capable of delivering such weapons. This includes arms and military equipment, and commercial items that can be used to develop weapons of mass destruction.
The list of controlled goods are divided into: military goods and dual-use goods. The dual-use list is similar in structure to the U.S. Commerce Control List and follows the European Union’s general numbering system. Though all Sumitomo Heavy Industry Power Transmission products are not classified as a military or dual-use list, SCA in complying with Sumitomo Heavy Industry's export control policy, when shipping out direct from Japan. SCA would therefore require the submission of End User information for every order, at the point of order entry. Please refer to the End User Information form attached.
